Are you familiar with a counter-cut?
Back to Knowledge BaseFrom time to time, it is necessary to trim large-format sheets down to the required print size.
A reverse cut is a technique used when cutting, trimming or cropping paper or cardboard prior to printing to prevent dusty, fibrous cut edges and thus avoid printing defects.
Generally, the cut edges in front of the blade are rougher, dustier and more fibrous. It is therefore advisable, after the first cut, to turn the sheet in front of the blade and make a second cut of approx. 3 mm as a counter-cut.
This counter-cut trims the rough, dusty and fibrous edge that was originally in front of the blade, thereby preventing printing defects caused by paper or cardboard dust.
